Milton Moon Recent Work: 82 years in the making
1926 Born Melbourne, Australia
1947 Discharged from Navy Service, lived in Queensland
1949-59 Studied Painting and Drawing at Central Technical
College, Brisbane, Queensland
1949-50 Studied with Margaret Cilento
1949-51 First became interested in pottery through a friend, and
in 1950 was taught wheel-throwing by Mervyn Feeney,
a traditional potter working in Brisbane.
1947-62 Employed in Broadcasting and later Television
1962 Senior Pottery Instructor, Department of Technical Education, Brisbane
1965 Awarded a Foundation Churchill Fellowship
Travelled and studied extensively overseas
1966 Represented Australia at the First World Craft Congress in Montreaux Switzerland
1967-68 Art tutor, Architecture Department, University of Queensland
1969 Left Queensland to live in Adelaide, South Australia
1969-75 Appointed Senior Lecturer, Head of Ceramics, South Australian School of Art
1974 Awarded a Myer Foundation Geijutsu Fellowship and lived and travelled Japan
1975 Resigned from lecturing to work full time, Summertown, Adelaide hills where he and his wife established a workshop, home & gallery in an 1850's stone mill
1976-1981 Foundation member of the Australia-Japan Foundation
1984 Awarded the Member of the Order of the Australia (AM)
1990 Made Life Member of the South Australian Crafts Council
1992 Recipient of an Advance Australia Foundation Award
1993 Recipient of an Australian Artists Creative Fellowship, for five years from 1994-98


Study and travel has been undertaken in United States, Mexico, United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Greece, Iran, Japan, and Korea
